Business ownersMarketing emails

The Marketing tab at /dashboard/marketing lets you send emails to your customers — for promotions, re-engagement, or just to say hi. The AI writes the copy in your voice; you review and schedule.

Marketing campaigns are not yet wired to the API
The AI chat / smart-reply / insights / site-content endpoints in/api/ai exist, but there is no /api/marketing or /api/campaigns route in the current Worker. The Marketing tab in the dashboard renders against data that the API doesn't yet expose; the page is a UX preview.

How to send a campaign

  1. Click "New campaign".
  2. Pick a campaign type (or "Custom"):
  • Win back no-shows — to customers who no-showed in the last 30 days. "We missed you. Here's 15% off your next visit."
  • Birthday discount — to customers with a birthday this month. "Happy birthday from the team. Here's $10 off."
  • Spring / summer / fall / winter promo — seasonal. "Spring is here. Time for a refresh."
  • Re-engagement — to customers who haven't visited in 90+ days. "It's been a while. Come back."
  • New service announcement — to all customers. "We're now offering X."
  • Custom — write your own brief.

Pick an audience:

  • All customers — every customer in your system
  • Specific tag — e.g. "VIP" or "Birthday this month"
  • Last visited X days ago — e.g. "no visit in 60+ days"
  • Last booked service — e.g. "booked Haircut" (for upsell)

Click "Generate with AI". The agent drafts:

  • Subject line (3 options)
  • Preview text (the snippet after the subject)
  • Body (150–300 words, in your voice)
  • One CTA (call-to-action): "Book now" → your booking URL

Edit anything. Click "Save as draft" to keep working, or "Schedule" to send later.

Send timing

Default send time: 10am in the customer's local timezone. Change to:

  • Specific date + time
  • Send immediately (skip the queue)

Open and click tracking

After the email goes out, you'll see:

  • Open rate (% of recipients who opened)
  • Click rate (% who clicked the CTA)
  • Bookings attributed (how many bookings came from the email)
  • Revenue attributed (deposits + estimated on-site)

Industry benchmarks: 35% open, 5% click, 1% book. If you're below, your subject line or audience is off.

Compliance

  • Every email has a "Unsubscribe" link in the footer (required by CAN-SPAM and CASL).
  • Unsubscribes are honored within 1 hour. You can't override them.
  • Physical mailing address in the footer (your business address).
  • Subject line is not deceptive (no "RE:" tricks).

Limits

  • Up to 5 campaigns per week per business (anti-spam)
  • No more than 1 email per customer per 7 days (unless they opted in)
  • Transactional emails (confirmations, reminders) don't count against these limits
Marketing emails are opt-in
Only customers who have given you permission get marketing emails. We track this per-customer; the default is "opted in" (they booked with you = they're interested). You can change to "double opt-in" in Settings.
